Therapeutic Recreation and the Addiction Recovery Program

The Freedom Rings drug rehab program is designed to treat the whole person, body, mind and spirit. One of the key elements in this type of drug and alcohol treatment program is recreation. The drug addiction treatment experience at Lakeview Freedom Rings includes working with cardiovascular equipment to offset stress and improve overall general health, the use of nautilus machines and other rehab equipment in the gym. While we recognize the benefits of this type of exercise, the staff at our alcohol treatment program has designed  recreation to be recovery focused

Unlike many other Florida drug rehabs, Freedom Rings therapists have been trained in recreational therapy. These recreation therapists design individual drug rehabilitation programs and activity plans for each patient. This allows us to use recreation as part of the overall drug and alcohol treatment experience.

Recovery Apartments Enhance an Incredible Alcohol Treatment Program Experience

Freedom Rings became a nationally acclaimed alcohol treatment center by developing one of the most comprehensive alcohol rehabs in the country. In an effort to enhance an already incredible addiction treatment experience, Lakeview Freedom Rings developed and built our own Recovery Apartments. Research in the alcohol treatment arena shows us the more comprehensive the continuum of care an alcohol rehab program can provide, the greater a person's chances are of achieving a full recovery. The Recovery Apartments were the last piece to a full drug and alcohol experience and one most other drug rehabs do not provide.

Our addiction recovery apartments, located just one mile from our alcohol rehab program, allow for our patient's last day in the alcohol rehabilitation program to resemble their first day at home. Being able to provide this type of addiction treatment experience for someone in a substance abuse treatment program allows for them to "really" assess their relapse prevention plan prior to discharge from the substance abuse treatment center. The Recovery Apartments are only for our patients and staff from our alcohol rehab is on premises 24 hours a day, seven days a week to support program policies.

While we are extremely proud that we have been able to provide our patients a beautiful drug rehab program in which to begin their recovery, we are even more pleased the substance abuse treatment offered at Freedom Rings has changed the lives of thousands in the LGBT community throughout the United States.

Specialty Services at Our Drug Rehabilitation Program

As stated earlier, our substance abuse treatment center was designed specifically for drug addiction treatment, alcohol addiction treatment and dual diagnosis treatment. As such we have designated certain buildings for specific drug rehabilitation services. One such example would be our drug detox program and alcohol detox center. By having the drug detox program in its own substance abuse treatment setting on campus, it allows our nurses to pay "special" attention to the patients in detox and not be distracted by those who are in drug rehab.  The physicians in our drug detox program are certified in addiction treatment, as well as, board certified in the area of medical specialty.

As with the drug detox program you will find our drug rehab program is separate from the partial hospitalization addiction treatment program and outpatient addiction treatment program. This separation in addiction treatment services created the individualized drug addiction treatment experience we knew would make the difference.

It is important to understand that while Lakeview Freedom Rings is for the LGBTQ population it does not mean that a person who is gay "must" be admitted to this drug addiction treatment component. As stated earlier, we provide individualized drug addiction treatment and we treat the person, not their sexuality. If you are gay and choose not to enter the Freedom Rings addiction treatment component and would rather be in Lakeview's drug rehab that is perfectly fine with us.
